What is Intuitive Clinical Supervision?
I I Supervision is a unique professional relationship between a supervisor, the supervisee and the clients that are impacted and served by the supervisee. As your clinical supervisor it is my role to help you- help others make sustainable change by encouraging and supporting you in your journey towards full liscensure. The use of intuition in clinical supervision is, not only one of the foundational elements of our personality and character, but it is also the ability to listen to our own inner wisdom and trust in ourselves.
Now, this sounds a little "woo-woo" for some but don't get it twisted- most counselors are given the same basic tools/knowledge and training so what I have come to understand about the counseling relationship is the role that a clinician's personality plays in the therapuetic process. This is where we, as a team, hone in on your unique talents and skills through the journey/rite of passage of clinical supervision. It is my goal to, not only, help you become the best you possible (as I do my own clients in private practice) but to also guide you and support you in learning the ins & outs of private practice and other clinical settings. Much like the counseling process, each supervisor brings something unique to the table as does the supervisee and this is what makes or breaks clinical supervision. Here is a little bit about me so that you can decide if we might be a good fit in the future because it is never too early to start searching for that person who may very well help you define your professional career.
I have my Associates Degree in Human Services Technology (AA), Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) and my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Crisis & Trauma (M.S.). I have worked in probably every setting possible with the exception of psychiatric hospitals- I have worked in child protective services, group homes, community mental health agencies and finally in private practice. I am the very super proud owner of Peak Professional Group, PLLC a private group practice located in Apex, NC and Pittsboro, NC. As my team would say, I have a lot of energy and bring a lot of "me" to the table in every facet of my life. Having said that, it is important to understand that I am who I am, no matter where I am. I stand firm in the authentic nature of being just who I am (toning it down of course in my therapy sessions!). I am currently a Qualified LCMHC Supervisor for the State of North Carolina. I am able to supervise LCMHCAs.
